Keatings Hotel was taken over by the Holgates in July 02, and after a whirlwind refurbishment of the bar, restaurant, lounge and beer garden, opened for trading in August 02.

The current double-story red-brick building was built in 1902 and is a local landmark in the Macedon Ranges region. The hotel sits on a large site, ideal to house the brewing operations of Holgate Brewhouse.
